The Sony SL-F1 was the successor to the SL-3000 portable video recorder.
It came out in 1982 and used the same direct drive reel mechanism
as the SL-C9 which gave the F1 incredibly
good tape transport. The F1 was part of the a range of Sony units
which included the TT-F1, a companion tuner timer unit,
the AC-F1 charger/power supply and the PCM-F1,
portable PCM adapter. There was also a camera and back-pack available.
Details, we hope, will soon be available on these.
